Neuer Rechner

Beitrag von Forperfatimm »

Hey,

Clearly, switching to Apple of Linux will do the job, but doing so is also a very drastic process as it will not only require a lengthy process of getting used to an entirely different operating system, but also depending on the kind of software you use, may be literally impossible if the software applications you use do not exist for Apple or Linux. Or, at the least it might require considerable financial investment to purchase the Apple- or Linux-compatible versions since your Win 10-compatible software will be useless.

Most effective (but also the most delicate) way to disable Cortana is through manual intervention in the Registry. The process is explained further down the page in this link:

If you do not have much computer expertise, my advice is to let someone do this who has, as making a critical or fatal typing error when configuring the Registry might lead to to your computer no longer starting up.

Finally, if indeed you were very fond of Win 7, one can in most cases downgrade and 'replace' Win 10 by Win 7. If you want to play really safe, you can simply put in a different, empty harddrive, and install Win7 from scratch. You will need to have the drivers of all your hardware, although in most cases, if your computer is not too old, you can also install them via computer brand-specific software, and if that doesn't exist even the Win 7 Update system will include drivers for at least the most basic functions of your computer. You'll then still have to install all the software you want to use, which can take up some time, and also configure that software as desired, which might take up even more time. Finally, you'll have to transfer all your files and folders. However, if you still have your owl computer that ran Win 7, you could probably simply take out the harddrive, put it into the new computer, run the proprietary Driver update software and Win 7 Updates, and chances are your new computer will simply run from your old, but updated harddrive.

So, several options for your to choose from !
